Barbara Voss Logan

Barbara Voss Logan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home September 19, 2015 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by Duane, her loving husband of 60 years. Barbara was born in Chicago, IL in 1932 to Phillip and Hazel Voss. She attended 11 different schools before relocating to Albuquerque in her sophomore year of high school. She graduated from Albuquerque High, and went to UNM. There she was a member of Alpha Delta Phi sorority and then met the love of her life Duane Logan. She went on earn her Master’s Degree in Business. She taught Business Law and Accounting classes at TVI/CNM for almost 30 years. She had fond memories of seeing her students become successful professionals. After her retirement, she took up feeding large quantities of mallard ducks in her backyard along with her daily walks in the Bosque. Barbara loved the outdoors, adventure, animals, and most of all, life. You would always find her skiing, hiking, or swimming with her family and friends. She introduced her grandchildren to her love of wilderness, hiking and skiing. Barbara especially loved playing bridge with her sorority sisters and neighborhood friends. She loved traveling the world with her husband. Some of her favorite places were: Machu Picchu, The Galapagos Islands, Tahiti, Russia and especially Switzerland. She would take incredibly fun annual "Ski" trips with both of her daughters. Her many volunteer activities included: The Rio Grande Nature Center, Women's Cancer Survivors, and VITA. Her love of life and humor will be dearly missed by her children: Doug and Leni Logan, Cindy and Steve Bohmbach, Sandy and Dan Aschenbrenner, Chuck and Kitty Logan. Grandmother of: Ray Chavez (Monica Aragon,) Carl (Anjelica) Chavez, Randy (Tracy) Chavez, Ryan (Andrew) Logan, Kelly (Greg) Barela, Cheryl (Shawn) Kinkaid, Amy Bohmbach, Charlie Logan, Chris Logan (Jessica Silva). Great- grandmother of: Samantha, Brandon, Kimberly, Isabella, Marissa, Emery, and Ayla Sage. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her loving caregivers that made it possible for Barbara to live her life at home: "daughter" Leni Logan, Rosina Apodaca, and Helen Couffer, The family would also like to thank her caring and faithful neighbors. A celebration of life for family and friends will take place at the Logan family home on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Private memorial services have already taken place.
